Importance of Estate Planning

Estate Planning is always one of those things on the ‘to do’ list that we never seem to get to. However, the importance of having your estate in place is crucial to ensure your wishes are carried out as per your request, in the event of tragedy.

No matter your age or wealth, the importance of Estate Planning is paramount, however the thought of becoming unwell, not being able to make decisions for yourself or not being here anymore can be frightening. The importance of safeguarding your assets may only seem important when we feel that there is something to safeguard them against. The uncertainty of the current coronavirus pandemic is proving to be one of these times.

Establishing your Estate Plan will provide you with a sense of security and certainty knowing that you have ensured that all necessary plans have been put in place and you have covered all bases.

We recommend you consult with a lawyer who has a background in wills and estates to establish your estate planning arrangements and ensure they reflect your current intentions. Once this is in place, it is then important to review it regularly to ensure it reflects your intentions, because if you do not, your assets may be distributed in a way that is contrary to your intentions.

Please contact our office if you require any additional information or assistance with your Estate Planning.
